He also had a rich life as an educator, Ambassador of the Nigerian Government, adult education administrator, college provost, dean, and an instructor in the Sociology Department of the University of Florida

Mr. Michael Holcomb of Jacksonville, Florida, the brother of Reverend Antonio Thomas, pastor of St. Mark AME Church, Tuscaloosa, Alabama in the Northwest Alabama Conference of the Ninth Episcopal District

Mother Ruth Junita Hall, the aunt of Rev. Juanita Hall Waters, pastor of Greater Mt. Olive AME Church, South District, Philadelphia Annual Conference, First Episcopal District

Mrs. Irene Pryor, the mother-in-love to the Reverend LaVeeshia Pryor, Pastor of Saint Paul AME Church, Richmond, KY, Commonwealth District, Kentucky Conference, Thirteenth Episcopal District

The Reverend Pedro A. Castro, Sr., a local elder;  the father of Reverend Pedro A. Castro, Jr. pastor of Grant AME Church-Boston, Massachusetts , Boston Hartford District, New England Annual Conference, First Episcopal District and was the husband of the Reverend Clara Mae Castro for 62 years

Mr. Andrew N. White III (78) was the son of the Late Rev. Dr. Andrew N. White, Jr., former General Secretary of the AME Church Department of Christian Education and the Late Mrs. Edith White; he was a multi-instrumentalist, composer, musicologist, and entrepreneur

Mr. James Lee Jones of Memphis, TN, the brother of the Reverend Sherry Miller, pastor of St. Mark AME Church, Louisville, KY, Louisville District-Kentucky Conference, Thirteenth Episcopal District

Mrs. Yvonne Jeffries Thornton, the sister of Mrs. Helen Jeffries Williams and sister-in-love to Presiding Elder Emeritus, the Reverend Sidney William, former Presiding Elder, Portsmouth-Richmond-Roanoke District, Virginia Conference, Second Episcopal District
