*The Reverend Conitras M. Houston Dickens Pastor of DuPage AME Church announce the birth of Cania A’Leal Dickens

It is with profound joy and deep gratitude to God that Reverend Conitras M. Houston Dickens  officially announce the birth of their precious daughter, Cania A’Leal Dickens. There wish is that she may embody the power of her name, encouraging all she encounters with “beautiful purpose” (Cania) and “loyalty/faithfulness” (A’Leal). They are thankful for your prayers along this journey, your generosity, and your love. They are blessed by an incredible village of support for both Caleb and Cania!

The Reverend Conitras M. Houston Dickens a true woman of God is dedicated to excellence in ministry through the Word, Work, and Will of God. An ordained Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Pastor “C,” as she is affectionately known, is the first female and third Senior Pastor of DuPage African Methodist Episcopal Church in Lisle, IL. She and the DuPage family are thrilled to have the opportunity to expand the Kingdom of God together, both virtually and physically. Pastor “C” also serves the needs of DuPage County as the Board Chair of REACH Community Services as well as The Harambee Initiative, Incorporated. Pastor “C” is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Emory University’s Candler School of Theology. She serves as an At-Large Member of the AME General Board, Finance Chair of the Fourth Episcopal District of the AME Church, and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Pastor “C” is married to Reverend Akil Dickens, the Senior Pastor of Arnett Chapel AME Church in Chicago, IL. They are the proud parents of one son, Caleb. On Monday, November 10, 2025, God blessed their union with their second child, a beloved daughter, Cania.
