Congratulatory Announcement - Reverend Dr. Ronald L. Slaughter Reappointed to the New Jersey State Parole Board

On December 22, 2025, the Reverend Dr. Ronald L. Slaughter, senior pastor of Saint James A.M.E. Church, Newark, New Jersey, was confirmed by the New Jersey Senate for a second term on the New Jersey State Parole Board. Dr. Slaughter’s confirmation follows a thorough public vetting process and an appearance before the New Jersey Senate Judiciary Committee on December 18, 2025. He will continue to provide leadership as Vice Chair of the Parole Board, guiding the Board to meet its goals of “increased public safety, sustained recidivism rate reductions, and the successful and sustainable reintegration of offenders.”

Dr. Slaughter was appointed to Saint James by the late Bishop Richard Franklin Norris, Sr., on May 29, 2011. He presently serves under the episcopal leadership of Bishop Samuel Lawrence Green, Sr., Presiding Prelate of the First Episcopal District.
